Following yesterday's poster reveal, Neon has today dropped the first trailer for Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk's summer camp slasher Hell of a Summer.
Starring Wolfhard, Bryk, Fred Hechinger (Gladiator II, Fear Street 1994), DโPharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs), Abby Quinn (Mad About You), and Pardis Saremi (Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem), Hell of a Summer follows:
[…] counselors who are getting Camp Pineway ready the night before campers arrive when a masked killer begins slaughtering the staff.
The film also stars Abby Quinn, Pardis Saremi, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Krista Nazaire, Matthew Finlan, Julia Lalonde, Daniel Gravelle, Julia Doyle, Susan Coyne, Rosebud Baker, and Adam Pally.
Previously, Wolfhard and Bryk confirmed that Hell of a Summer, which premiered at Toronto Film Festival in 2023, was partly inspired by a desire to upend Gen Z stereotypes:
โOur No. 1 conversation was how annoying it is to see new teen movies and how badly our age group is represented [โฆ] And weโre like, โWhy donโt we just do it?โโ
Today's new trailer teases that Hell of a Summer is taking beats from the slasher greats, notably, of course, Friday the 13th with its masked mystery slasher.
Hell of a Summer hits theaters on April 18. Check out the new trailer below, and for more 2025 horror news, read our rundown of this year's most anticipated releases.
