Series two of Disney+ and Hulu's Goosebumps series is set to premiere on January 10, with a brand new teaser today revealing the title of Goosebumps: The Vanishing and a new look at star David Schwimmer.
Based on the legendary R.L. Stine books of the same name, Goosebumps: The Vanishing stars YouTuber Jayden Bartels and Sam McCarthy (Dead to Me) alongside Schwimmer, and follows:
Goosebumps: The Vanishing follows twins Cece (Bartels) and Devin Brewer (McCarthy) as they are sent to spend the summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn with their divorced dad, botanist Anthony Brewer (Schwimmer). A threat is stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin and their friends find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.
The eight-episode series, developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, with showrunner Hilary Winston, also stars Ana Ortiz, Elijah M. Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, Francesca Noel and Stony Blyden.
On the slab as inspiration for the second series are some of Stine's most popular works from his adored Goosebumps book series, including Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, The Girl Who Cried Monster, The Ghost Next Door and Welcome to Camp Nightmare. The sticky black substance is certainly giving that good Monster Blood nostalgia…
The Goosebumps series serves as a reboot of the classic '90s series, which aired for four seasons between 1995 – 1998. The first Disney+ and Hulu season adapted The Haunted Mask, Say Cheese and Die!, and Night of the Living Dummy from Stine's vast bibliography.
Don't miss Goosebumps: The Vanishing on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10, 2025.
