Fazbear and his killer buddies return in Blumhouse and Universal's new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2023 horror hit based on the best-selling video game series of the same name.
Releasing on December 5, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 sees director Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon) return, as well as stars Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lail and Scream king Matthew Lillard who plays series antagonist William Afton. Jason Blum and Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon return to produce.
Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Teo Briones (Final Destination Bloodlines) also join the sequel in undisclosed roles, as does horror icon Skeet Ulrich, making Five Nights at Freddy's 2 something of a Scream reunion.
In the sequel:
One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbearโs Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the townโs first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Lail) have kept the truth from Mikeโs 11-year-old sister, Abby (Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddyโs, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.
In today's new trailer, it looks like the animatronics have got themselves a killer upgrade, which doesn't bode well for Hutcherson et all. Check it out below, and if you're heading to San Diego Comic-Con, don't miss the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 panel today at 4:15pm PDT in Hall H.
