Christopher Landon's twisted tech-thriller Drop hits theaters on April 11, with Universal releasing a brand new trailer today that'll get your pulse pounding.
Starring Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us), Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) and newcomer Jacob Robinson, Drop has been described by Landon as his Hitchcock-inspired โlove letter to Brian De Palmaโ, inspired by 90s thrillers and an evolution of his previous horror-comedies like Happy Death Day and Freaky.
[โฆ] a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.
She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violetโs young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentorโs final directive? Kill Henry.
Also staring in Drop are Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffrey Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson.
Written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach, Drop is produced by horror titan Jason Blum for Blumhouse, Michael Bay (yes, that one), Brad Fuller (A Quiet Place, The Purge) and Cameron Fuller (The Astronaut) for Platinum Dunes. Executive producer is Sam Lerner.
