Every self-respecting goth knows that Dr. Martens are a staple of the subcultureโs wardrobe. From the classic combat boot to their more elaborate platforms, weโve all got at least one, and now, theyโre leaning even more into it for Halloween with a brand new Netflix collaboration: theyโre bringing the fashion of one of horrorโs most iconic characters โ and most memorably goths โ to life with a new Wednesday collection, inspired by the Netflix series starring Jenna Ortega.
The collection takes inspiration from the unique style of young Wednesday Addams, by way of director Tim Burtonโs own iconic aesthetic. The drop includes six pieces, with various levels of commitment to Wednesdayโs gothic couture. For those who maybe want to simply supplement their existing Docs collection, thereโs the Jadon Wednesday Boot, featuring a removable stained glass window charm, as well as embroidery inspired by the window in Wednesdayโs dorm room, and an embossed Nevermore Academy logo, which retails for $210 USD.
Next up the ladder is the Bex Wednesday Shoe, a loafer with glass stripe print to match the Nevermore Academy uniforms, as well as a heel with โOUTCASTS ARE INโ printed across the heel, retailing for $170 USD. For $180 USD, you can get the Corran Wednesday Loafer, a heeled piece with exaggerated grooving, stained glass embroidery, and an ankle strap, and the Ramsey Quad Wednesday Creeper takes it up a notch, with leather buckles, removable ribbon lacing, and a studded strap on top of a small platform for $190 USD.
The collection also includes two non-shoe items, a mini-backpack with gloss stripes detailing and a variety of themed details, as well as knee-high black and gray socks which also feature the โOUTCASTS ARE INโ print. Both retail for $140 USD and $26 USD, respectively.
This isnโt the first time Dr. Martens has taken inspiration from the horror scene for some of their products. Theyโve also released shoes inspired by The Lost Boys and Beetlejuice, and even some horror-adjacent bands like Nine Inch Nails, and institutions like The Met and the Tate Modern. (And everybody knows that if you look in enough dark museum corners, youโre bound to find something super weird.)
Season 1 of Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix now, and the full Dr. Martens x Wednesday collection will be available on October 23. Check out some images of the collection down below:
