Yesterday's Super Bowl boasted a bunch of exciting events (Bad Bunny's incredible halftime show being one of them), with a new trailer for Steven Spielberg's UFO thriller Disclosure Day among the top.

Based on a story by Spielberg with a screenplay from Jurassic Park‘s David Koepp, Disclosure Day stars a powerhouse cast of Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Wyatt Russell.

An official, nicely mysterious, logline for Disclosure Day reads:

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.

Disclosure Day marks Spielberg's 37th (!!) entry in a filmography that has cumulatively racked up over $10 billion worldwide, with the Hollywood titan dabbling many times in the science-fiction genre before, most notably with 1977's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1982's E.T., 2001's A.I. Artificial Intelligence and 2005's War of the Worlds, to name but a few.

While we're not really in the business of speculation, and much prefer to let the mystery of Disclosure Day unfold organically, it seems from today's new trailer that the film will deal with humanity coming to terms with the existentially troubling reality that we are not alone in the universe. Something's coming that can be seen emerging from the clouds at the end of the new look at Disclosure Day, and knowing Spielberg, it's going to be epic whatever the case.

Disclosure Day hits theaters on June 12 via Universal Pictures. Check out the new big game spot trailer below, and for more, here's all the other horror movies we're excited for still to come in 2026.
