Dead by Daylight fans rejoice because the crossover you’ve been waiting for is finally happening. As has been officially confirmed by Behavior Interactive as part of celebrating the game’s nine year anniversary, Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to the Fog. That’s right. The beloved gang from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is coming to DbD as this year’s anniversary Chapter.

The announcement was made at this year’s PAX East as the team behind Dead by Daylight took to the stage on Friday to share what’s coming this year. The biggest announcement was a host of new details for the Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover, which you can check out below. So, what can player’s expect? Well, first and foremost, the fan-favorite Springtrap will be the game’s latest Killer.
Adding to an already mind-boggling roster of horror icons, including everything from Xenomorphs to Dungeons & Dragons, the addition of FNAF has been a long time coming. Five Nights at Freddy’s was revealed to be the most requested license in Dead by Daylight’s history. The folks at Behavior heard those cries and delivered. The introduction of Springtrap adds a unique angle to this much-requested collaboration, as it marks the first time ever the character is playable in a game.
Many details remain under wraps for the time being, but Dead by Daylight’s has an upcoming Official Five Nights at Freddy’s livestream where more details will be unveiled to the public. For now, we know that as part of the Chapter’s Collection, a Springtrap Legendary Outfit will be released letting players embody the “Yellow Rabbit” version of the character.
This version of the character was portrayed by Matthew Lillard in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Lillard also recorded original voice lines for the Outfit. Perhaps most enticing of all, the Chapter will also include a new Map featuring Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which promises to be filled with easter eggs and surprises. We've also got a first glimpse at the map for you to check out below. This all comes ahead of the release of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 in theaters this December. It's a good time to be a fan of deadly animatronic animals, it seems.
Additionally, Behavior included glimpses at other collabs coming our way this year, including a first look at the soon-to-be-released Witcher Collection, a Tomb Raider collaboration and an update on Boulet Brothers joining the DbD universe. Needless to say, there is a lot for players to look forward to beyond the FNAF content, which will be coming our way soon.
