Having already created the soundtrack to many of our favorite childhood moments on film and in music, โWeird Scienceโ musician and composer Danny Elfman is back at bat for another killer score โ literally. The award-winning musician just revealed that heโs setting up to reteam with frequent collaborator Sam Raimi for his upcoming thriller Send Help, which heโll be providing the score for.
When speaking to journalist Andrew Freund at the opening of Universal Orlandoโs new park Epic Universe, the Beetlejuice composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman confirmed that heโs scoring Raimiโs latest film when asked about his upcoming work, confirming that the film has also wrapped production.
โIโm just finishing a score for Gus Van Sant and a really fun thriller,โ the composer said, โAnd then I start another thriller with Sam Raimi, that they just finished shooting in Australia called Send Help.โ He also confirmed that heโs got another solo album on the way, after several years of massively successful solo performances at Coachella.
Send Help stars Rachel McAdams and Dylan OโBrien, following two friends stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash who must overcome their own trauma and disagreements in order to survive. Directed by Raimi from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, this will be Danny Elfmanโs eighth collaboration with the Evil Dead director, having also scored the directorโs first two Spider-Man films, as well as Army of Darkness, Darkman, A Simple Plan, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Oz: The Great and Powerful.
In addition to Send Help, Elfman is also set to score Dead Manโs Wire, the Van Sant thriller he mentions in Freundโs interview, as well as Dracula: A Love Story, from director Luc Besson. These projects join his massively influential discography which also includes titles like Beetlejuice, Tim Burtonโs Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Hellboy II; The Golden Army, and The Wolfman.
