Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who also worked on IT: Welcome to Derry, announced via a new Instagram post that filming on the upcoming series starring Linda Cardellini as murder mommy Pamela Voorhees is officially complete, with the series prepped for a 2026 release date on Peacock.ย
The new prequel series stars Callum Vinson alongside Cardellini as a young Jason Voorhees, prior to the accident that made him the killer we all know and love today. Joining Vinson and Cardellini are William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Danielle Kotch, Phoenix Parnevik, Nancy Nagrant, and Joy Suprano, with Michael Lennox, Celine Held and Logan George, and Quyen Tran directing episodes.ย
โCRYSTAL LAKE wrap party was epic!โ Kane writes. โIโm madly in love with and totally in awe of this stellar bunch of artists and humans. A fella couldnโt ask for a more talented and wonderful group of collaborators. S1 (almost sorta not quite) done and dusted. More please and thank you.โ
Scoggins also had a celebratory Instagram post of his own โ uncovered by our friends over at Bloody Disgusting โ venerating Kane for his work on the series, and his own time playing in the Friday the 13th sandbox.ย
โWhat a journey since June! To be a part of Crystal Lake has been the dream of a lifetime,โ Scoggins wrote. โThank you to A24 & Peacock for the opportunity. Thank you to the INCREDIBLE crew for being the best group of people to be around everyday. And huge thanks to the true maestro Brad Caleb Kane who has taken on this legendary franchise with such respect, wit and infectious enthusiasm. Yaโll [sic] ainโt ready for what this man is about to give you.โ
Crystal Lake will arrive on Peacock sometime in 2026. Stay tuned to FANGORIA for more updates on the series as they arrive.
