Bring Beep Boop home later this month, as Companion will begin streaming globally on Max next Friday, April 18, as well as debuting on HBO linear on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Drew Hancock's sci-fi horror starring Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, Heretic) and Jack Quaid (The Boys) was released at the end of January this year, racking up a pretty neat worldwide total of $36.7 million off a $10 million budget.
In New Line's Companion, which was produced by Barbarian's Zach Cregger:
Josh's girlfriend Iris (Thatcher) is an android designed to be the perfect, subservient partner. But, since Josh jail-broke the settings of his โsex-bot,โ things turn bloody and violent during a weekend getaway in a remote cabin with his friends
Alongside Cregger, Companion is produced by fellow Barbarians Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz and Roy Lee. Executive producers are Tracy Rosenblum and Jamie Buckner.
In our review of Companion, BJ Colangelo called the pic a “terrific, thrilling takedown of entitled tech bro losers”, and she's 100% right.
