After passing the $100 million mark at the box office late last year, Scott Derricksonโs horror sequel Black Phone 2 is finally coming to streaming. The film starring Ethan Hawke, which is currently available to buy or rent on digital, will be coming to Peacock later this month, marking the first major streaming release for the platform this year.ย
One of three films starring Mason Thames that hit theaters last fall โ also including How to Train Your Dragon and Regretting You โ Black Phone 2 was Blumhouseโs biggest film of 2025, earning just over $100 million globally, more than earning back its reported budget of $30 million. The sequel features Thames and Madeleine McGraw returning a few years after their initial encounter with The Grabber, only to be confronted by his return from beyond the grave when they begin investigating a deadly mystery.ย
The Black Phone films, based on the short story of the same name by Joe Hill, are some of the most successful to come out of Blumhouse, and join a massive collection of titles coming to Peacock in January. Derricksonโs film follows quickly on the heels of Yorgos Lanthimosโ kidnap thriller Bugonia, starring Emma Stone, as well as Him, and joins a backlog of titles like Freaky, Misery, The Shining, and The Terminator.ย
But Black Phone 2 isnโt the end of Blumhouseโs horror offerings โ theyโve got plenty coming this year and beyond. Set to be released this year are films like The Resurrected, from Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin, Obsession, Insidious: The Bleeding World, and Rob Savageโs Other Mommy. Which one are you looking forward to the most?ย
Black Phone 2 hits Peacock on January 16.
