Big Baby is coming, and he’s not giving anyone any mercy. FANGORIA is excited to partner with Brainstorm Media to debut an exclusive clip from the upcoming meta-slasher, which mixes fiction and reality in such a disturbing way that you’ll think twice before you turn on another scary movie.
Written and directed by Spider One, Big Baby stars his real life wife Krsy Fox alongside an extensive cast that includes David Howard Thornton, Brandon Scott, Catherine Corcoran, Chaz Bono, Tracie Thoms, Riley London, and our very own Angel Melanson. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Nightmares of a maniac killer in a baby mask inspire a horror writer’s new script. As his life begins to spiral out of control, he discovers Big Baby’s murderous rampage may be more than just fiction.
Our exclusive clip features Scott as the film’s main character, Adam, who thinks he’s seen a dead body in a darkened alley. (Talk about a stereotype!) He tries to convince his partner, Fox’s Kate, that something is deeply wrong, but when they go to investigate, the evidence is gone, spelling out danger both for Adam’s psyche and for his life.
“For me, Big Baby is a cautionary tale of control, or more accurately, lack of control,” says Spider One. “My main character, Adam, is obsessed with controlling the narrative of his relationship, his work and the perception of his work. The tragedy is that the more he tightens his grip the less control he has which of course leads to the deadly creation of Big Baby.
“Playing in the “slasher” world was incredibly fun and I believe Big Baby will stand as a unique contribution to the genre. It’s filled with blood and gore and shocking moments but for me the grounded stellar performances from the cast is what really makes the film shine.”
Big Baby is produced by Fox and star Chaz Bono, along with the latter’s mother Cher, Wendy Berry, and Terry Poor.
