It's almost time to fully explore the Backrooms, with Kane Parsons' debut feature hitting theaters on May 29. A24 has dropped a brand new trailer that takes us further into the liminal horror nightmare. In we go:

Produced by James Wan for Wan’s Atomic Monster, Backrooms stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (The Life of Chuck, Mike Flanagan's The Exorcist) and Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World, A Different Man), as well as Creep‘s Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett (True Detective), Lukita Maxwell (Afraid) and Avan Jogia (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City).
An official logline for Backrooms, written by Will Soodik (Ash Vs. Evil Dead), reads:
After a therapist's patient goes missing into a dimension beyond reality, she has to enter the unknown to save him.
Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine produce Backrooms for 21 Laps. Michael Clear produces alongside Wan for Atomic Monster.
Based on the viral series of found-footage videos from filmmaker and VFX artist Parsons (currently A24's youngest ever director at just 20 years old), which are themselves based on a popular creepypasta, the original Backrooms follows a young filmmaker’s fall into another dimension leaves him wandering through an unsettlingly yellow, empty and labyrinthine office space, which may or may not be home to otherworldly beings. The first video in the series uploaded to Parson' KanePixels YouTube Channel, titled “The Backrooms (Found Footage)” racked up over 70 million views since its release four years ago, a number we suspect will only jump as hype for the full-length Backrooms increases.
Backrooms hits theaters on May 29. Check out two new character posters below, and for more, here's 9 other creepypasta stories that deserve a horror movie adaptation (and who should direct them!)
