Yorgos Lanthimos is following up his double whammy of Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness with Bugonia, with Focus Features unleashing the first trailer for the sci-fi comedy feature today.
Starring in Bugonia are frequent Lanthimos collaborators Emma Stone (who won an Oscar for Poor Things) and Jesse Plemons, as well as Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone.
A remake of Jang Joon-hwan's Save the Green Planet! from 2003, Bugonia was written by Will Tracy (The Menu), and follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) Bugonia produces along with Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Miky Lee, Jerry Kyoungboum Ko, Lanthimos, Stone, and Lars Knudsen.
Bugonia hits theaters wide on October 31, with special limited engagement screenings starting on October 24 across New York and Los Angeles. Check out the wacky new trailer below:
