Lee Cronin's The Mummy continues to round out its cast, with Deadline revealing today that Veronica Falcón (The Forever Purge,Imaginary), May Calamawy (Moon Knight), and May Elghety (Grand Hotel) are set to join the upcoming monster movie.

The trio join previously announced stars Jack Reynor (Midsommar) and Laia Costa (Devils). Deadline also note that production on The Mummy is currently underway in Ireland and Spain.

The Mummy comes as part of Cronin's deal with New Line Cinema, with horror giants Blumhouse and James Wan's Atomic Monster producing. Cronin's Doppelgängers is also producing. Plot details are still under wraps, but Cronin has already teased that his will be “unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before.”

Calamawy, who is Egyptian herself, broke out as Scarlet Scarab in Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series as the first Egyptian and first Arab superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Needless to say, she's pretty perfect for a role in a classically Egyptian horror story.

Cronin's Evil Dead Rise was a huge hit back in 2023, nabbing almost $150 million at the global box office and kickstarting the Evil Dead franchise once again.

The Mummy is set for an April 17, 2026 release. Look out for more updates as they're unwrapped.
