Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg has sadly passed away at 39, New York Post reports today.
Trachtenberg began her career as a child, starring on Nickelodeon shows like The Adventures of Pete & Pete, before making her film debut in 1996's Harriet the Spy.
From 2000 to 2003, Trachtenberg starred alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing the titular vampire hunter's little sister Dawn Summers. The role won her a Young Artist Award and earned her three Saturn Award nominations. Whether or not Trachtenberg was due to appear in the upcoming Buffy sequel series is unknown.
Trachtenberg also starred in the 2006 Black Christmas remake, as well as Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin.
