If youโ€™ve ever had the deep-seated desire to stay at the infamous hotel where Jack Torrance slowly lost his mind and experience The Shining from within the halls where the story took place, nowโ€™s your chance. On Set Cinema is celebrating the forty-fifth anniversary of the Stanley Kubrick classic by hosting a screening at the Timberline Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon, the location of the exterior shots of the Overlook Hotel in the iconic hotel.

The screening will take place on Sunday, October 5 at the Timberline Lodge, a US National Historic Landmark, and fans who attend will have access to the hotel grounds for a majority of the day, which includes multiple dining rooms and restaurants, gift shops, and more. The event will also feature a special themed bar for attendees, as well as photo opportunities and giveaways.

Tickets for the event itself go for $75 USD (available on On Set Cinemaโ€™s website now), and the screening starts at 7:15 PM sharp. Ticket holders will also receive a discount for lodging at Timberline, with a queen room going for just over $200 USD and a queen twin for $220 USD.

The Shining isnโ€™t the only film On Set Cinema is screening this year, either. In April, theyโ€™re also hosting a screening of Halloween Kills, featuring an appearance by Tom Jones Jr, at the Community College that stood in for Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Plus, October also features a screening of the original Scream in Sonoma, California, at the filming location for Woodsboro High School.

If youโ€™re interested in even more horror history related to The Shining, you can also visit The Stanley Hotel, which will soon be home to the Stanley Film Center, a multi-genre film and music venue and museum themed specifically around horror. The real axe used by Jack Nicholson in Kubrickโ€™s film will be one of the primary displays in the exhibit, though while you wait, taking a stroll through the hotelโ€™s halls isnโ€™t a bad substitute either.

Tickets for On Set Cinemaโ€™s screening of The Shining are available now.
