Peachfuzz fans, rejoice. Shudder has announced that they have acquired the rights to the next installment of the Creep franchise. No, itโs not the long-awaited Creep 3. Instead, weโre getting a TV series called The Creep Tapes, with the duo of Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice returning to bring their found footage horror franchise back to life.
Duplass is reprising his role in the series, which will run for six episodes in total. Shudder and AMC+ will premiere the first two episodes on Friday, November 15. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays on both platforms following the premiere. Duplass recently confirmed that The Creep Tapes was happening. However, it wasnโt clear where the series was going to be released. Shudder was pretty quick to step up and give the project a home. The streamer also released a synopsis for the show, which reads as follows:
โThe Creep Tapes continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life. Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killerโs questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake.โ

The series is produced by Duplass Brothers Productions and Shudder. Duplass and Brice serve as executive producers, in addition to being co-writers. Brice directed all six episodes himself. Additional Executive Producers include Mel Eslyn, Jay Duplass and Chris Donlon, with Shuli Harel on board as co-executive producer. Mark Duplass had this to say about it:
โA little over 10 years ago, Patrick Brice and I spent a week together in my cabin with a small digital camera. We emerged with a found footage horror film that was so wildly strange and uncomfortable we assumed no one would see it. To be continuing this unholy legacy in the series format is a true nightmare come true.โ
โPatrick and Mark have given us two of the most unique and exciting takes on psychological horror with Creep and Creep 2, both of which amassed a huge fan following and camp audience,โ said Courtney Thomasma, EVP of streaming for AMC Networks. โWeโre thrilled to be working alongside them in expanding this popular franchise with six thrilling episodes that will unfold more of this twisted story and Peachfuzz antics.โ
