ALIEN: EARTH Gets Official Logline And First Teaser

Noah Hawley's long-awaited sci-fi horror series will hit Hulu sometime in 2025.
ALIEN: EARTH

Fresh off the gargantuan success of Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus, the Alien franchise continues to expand with Alien: Earth, FX and Hulu's upcoming sci-fi horror series that as of today has its first teaser and official logline.

From director Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion), Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille and Moe Bar-El.

Chandler's character, Wendy, is describe as a โ€œa hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.โ€ We also know that Lawther plays a soldier named CJ, Blenkin a CEO named Boy Kavalier, Davis as the mysterious Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav as someone named Slightly, and Kit Young as the hilariously named Tootles.

Like Romulus, Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien, is also on board as an executive producer.

Per the new logline…

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planetโ€™s greatest threat.

We already knew that Alien: Earth was set to take place on our very own planet, but this confirmation has us intrigued as to what terrestrial chaos the Xenomorphs will wreak among humans in their own habitat.

As for where Alien: Earth sits on the Alien timeline, the film takes things back to the very beginning, before even Prometheus, meaning some of the mythology regarding the Xenomorphs will surely have to be juggled around in a way we can't wait to see play out.

Today's new teaser comes as a much anticipated updated on the slow going series. As we previously reported, the original plan was to film this year for a release sometime in 2024. Unfortunately, the aforementioned Screen Actors Guild strike, coupled with the Writers Guild of America strike, delayed things significantly.

While we still don't have an exact release date, the show is now expected to confirmed sometime in 2025.

As Deadline kindly remind us, FX boss John Landgraf has previously described the show as a โ€œbig imaginative reimaginingโ€ of the Alien franchise, and confirmed that the show is โ€œdesigned to be an ongoing series.โ€

Today's new teaser is short but sweet, giving us a little glimpse of everyone's favorite alien monster – and, unsurprisingly, it ain't happy.

We'll bring you more updates on Alien: Earth as we get them.
