Popcorn Frights Film Festival brings its Wicked Weekend back to South Florida next month for five days of macabre delights, cult cinema treasures, blood-soaked slashers, and gloriously deranged genre entertainment.
Kicking off the chaos on November 11 is the Maika Monroe-starring Gothic bloodbath Victorian Psycho from director Zachary Wigon, which sees the It Follows scream queen play an impeccably mannered governess whose arrival at the imposing Ensor House coincides with a series of increasingly disturbing disappearances.
Genre legend Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea, The Strangers trilogy) joins the fun in person for a special presentation of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, which will be accompanied by an interactive fan experience packed with exclusive surprises, photo opportunities, giveaways, and more.
The classics continue at Wicked Weekend as Popcorn Frights returns to Camp Crystal Lake for a special screening of Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, while the fest also celebrates the 40th anniversary of Little Shop of Horrors with an interactive live shadowcast by Infinite Abyss Productions that brings the characters of everybody's favorite horror musical (including Audrey II) to life in front of the screen.
Rounding out this year's Wicked Weekend is a special presentation of unhinged '80s sci-fi horror gem Remote Control, in which a seemingly harmless video rental turns viewers into murderous killing machines, with director Jeff Lieberman (Blue Sunshine) in attendance.
Popcorn Frights celebrated its twelfth edition earlier this year, with Drag, Never After Dark, and Colony taking home awards.
