Looking for something new to watch this weekend? Well, Pluto TV has you covered. They’ve just revealed that Dev Patel’s Rabbit Trap, which was previously only available for purchase, is now streaming for free on the platform for a month only.
Starring Patel alongside Rosy McEwen and Jade Croot, Rabbit Trap is written and directed by Bryn Chainey in his feature film debut, and is produced through SpectreVision, the company behind iconic films like Mandy and A Girl Walk Home Alone at Night. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Darcy and Daphne Davenport are freshly decamped from London and taking up residence in an isolated cottage deep in the Welsh countryside in search of creative renewal and acoustic inspiration. When the couple set about exploring their new environs, recording instruments in tow, Darcy stumbles upon a “faerie circle” that emits a strange, unidentifiable frequency; this odd discovery is followed closely by the appearance of an otherworldly child who claims to live nearby and is eager to befriend the Davenports. Soon the child becomes a fixture in their household, alternately ingratiating himself and raising suspicions, and exposing unacknowledged rifts and unexamined secrets that threaten to wreak psychological and spiritual havoc in the lives of his makeshift adoptive parents.

“I’m passionate about making this film for a number of reasons. It’s partly based on my own experiences of living through childhood abuse and the effect it has had on my relationships as an adult,” said Chainey in a statement. “I truly believe horror cinema is a unique vessel to empathize with experiences invisible to the naked eye, especially the ethereal dread of those living with trauma. Rabbit Trap will be a psychological horror that is a feast for the senses, deeply personal and singularly weird, yet full of heart and catharsis.”
Rabbit Trap originally premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival to wide praise, backed by producers Adrian Politowski, Martin Metz, Alex Ashworth, Sean Marley, Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah, Elijah Wood, and Elisa Lleras. The film joins countless other horror projects available to stream for free on Pluto TV, including Hereditary, The Blob, Jeepers Creepers, Terrifier, and more.
Rabbit Trap is available to stream for free on Pluto TV until May 31.
