Hey, want to watch a horror movie? Since we can’t invite you all over to our place, we figured throwing a national monthly watch party is the next best thing! We’re partnering with Regal to bring you FANGORIA Staff Picks. On the 13th of every month, we’re selecting a must-watch horror movie from our vault of favorites to place back on the big screen, exclusively at Regal theaters.
We are big proponents of horror movies as a communal experience, as Fango Editor In Chief Phil Nobile Jr. put it, “There’s nothing like the silence, the tension, and the reactions of a packed audience. We’re going beyond just curating films and cultivating the experience into a full-blown ritual.”
We’re kicking off said ritual with a contemporary classic often cited as the scariest horror movie ever made, backed by science — Scott Derrickson’s Sinister. Written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, Sinister stars Ethan Hawke as a true crime writer who moves his family into a murder house… without telling them. Things start to get more than a little Sinister, and I won’t spoil anything in case this will be a first-time watch for you.
If this one chilled you to your core while watching at home, wait until you see it in a cold, dark theater — is that the icy breath of Bughuul upon your neck? We’re getting chills just thinking about it.
Beyond curating these monthly communal rituals for fellow horror fans, every Staff Picks screening also comes with exclusives:
- A free collectible patch with each screening
- Deals for Regal Crown Club and Unlimited members
- Exclusive content, context, and conversation from the Fango Staff
Check out April's collectible patch, which you can pick up at the theater when you redeem your ticket.

Grab your tickets to see Sinister on the big screen at your local Regal theater and stay tuned for plenty of surprises every month. The fun kicks off on April 13 with Sinister.
