While regular episodes of The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs are coming to an end tonight on Shudder, the platform isn’t quite done with the horror host just yet. The streamer just announced that four new Last Drive-In specials will premiere this year, making sure that Briggs’ legacy is forever planted in their vast collection of horror stories.
The first special, Joe Bob’s Wicked Witchy Wingding, premieres on April 24 as a part of Shudder’s annual Halfway to Halloween celebrations, featuring a yet-to-be-revealed double feature of occult films as Joe Bob and his co-host Darcy the Mail Girl once again attempt to establish Walpurgisnacht as an American horror-holiday. Details for the other three specials have yet to be announced.

2026 marks the end of the original Last Drive-In series, which began in 2019 after former MonsterVision host Briggs helmed a whopping thirteen film marathon on Shudder, featuring movies like Re-Animator, Sleepaway Camp, and Hellraiser. Over seven seasons, the show featured films like Cannibal Holocaust, Heathers, Chopping Mall, The Babadook, and Hellbender, and welcomed countless horror icons as guests, including Tom Atkins, Felissa Rose, Barbara Crampton, and Svengoolie.
“Joe Bob Briggs has been a Shudder staple since 2018, when his original 13-movie marathon ‘broke the internet,’” said Shudder’s Courtney Thomasma. “Since then, he and Darcy the Mail Girl have continued to delight Shudder fans with double features and seasonal specials tailored to horror buffs and cinephiles alike, always offering plenty of surprises. We look forward to sharing these four new specials with Drive-In Mutants everywhere.”
The series finale of The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs premieres tonight at 9PM ET on Shudder and AMC+.
