If you really need a last minute Valentineโ€™s Day gift this year, Terror Vision has just the thing for you. Theyโ€™re celebrating the forty-fifth anniversary of My Bloody Valentine with a special release of the filmโ€™s original score on vinyl, presented as the โ€œdefinitive uncut editionโ€ featuring over two hours of music from composer Paul Zaza across special edition LPs.ย

The special edition of the filmโ€™s score has been assembled by Terror Vision based on a long-circling rumor among horror fans: a promotional box reportedly sent to theaters in 1981, featuring an uncut soundtrack on vinyl, as well as various promotional items. This new version was assembled with help from director Mihalka, composer Zaza, and star Peter Cowper, as well as artists Ghoulish Gary Pullin and Earl Kess, and contains the entire score as heard in the film, as well as 45 minutes of previously unreleased music.ย

My Bloody Valentine: The Original Score is available in three color variants: the standard โ€œpink mistโ€ retail variant and an โ€œaorta burstโ€ variant available only for Terror Vision Record Club members, both retailing at $80 USD, and a limited edition handpoured variant, which is limited to fifty pressings only and retails for $120 USD.ย

The box set is limited to five hundred copies, and comes with numerous goodies in addition to the three LPs. Fans who purchase the set receive a sleeve featuring new artwork and layout by Pullin and Kess, with printed inner sleeves and new liner notes written by Mihalka, Zaza, Cowper, and Shon Wheeler. Also included are four lobby cards, a cereal box miner mask designed by Kalie Demerjian, and a keychain advertising Valentine Bluffs.ย

While the original film celebrates forty-five years this year, the legacy of the franchise is still alive and well. A reboot film was produced in 2009, and it was reported two years ago that another was in the works from Blumhouse, though news about that has surfaced since the announcement in 2024. Maybe the 50th anniversary will hold something special?

The new My Bloody Valentine boxset is available now on Terror Visionโ€™s website.
