The sequel to Chris Nash's POV horror hit In a Violent Nature is officially now in post-production, with new plot details today revealing what's next for undead slasher Johnny.
First confirmed last year, with producer Peter Kuplowsky promising “double the kills“,ย In a Violent Nature 2, also written and directed by Nash, has just been boarded by Paris-based international sales banner Charades who'll be heading to the EFM in Berlin later this week.
Per Variety, In a Violent Nature 2 brings back Ry Barrett as Johnny, a vengeful, undead killer who embarks on a bloody rampage after a group of teens steal a golden locket that awakens his spirit:
In the second film, Johnny heads to a summer camp, where he crosses paths with a young, outcast camper who is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party.
Variety also reveals thatย Lucas Nguyen, Olivia Scriven, Laurie Babin, Fionn Laird, Donald MacLean Jr. and Evan Marsh complete the cast this time around, presumably as Johnny's poor victims.
The โambient slasherโ, which uniquely showcased Johnny's POV rather than his victims, ย premiered at Sundance 2024, and immediately racked up audience hype among horror fans following release via Independent Film Company and Shudder for its grisly, practical effects and one particularly imaginative FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-winning kill that had us, shall we say, hooked. Fango has also exclusively been told there are multiple kills on par with that one in the sequel. Gulp.
Producing In a Violent Nature 2ย areย Kuplowsky, Shannon Hanmer, with Nash and Michael James Regan, alongside co-producer Liane Cunje.
