“ROAD GAMES” to Receive 4K Blu-ray Treatment from Umbrella Entertainment!

While horror fans might best remember director Richard Franklin for movies such as PATRICK or PSYCHO II, this writer will forever sing his praises for a little film named ROAD GAMES. Franklin, a protege of Alfred Hitchcock, would craft out essentially “REAR WINDOW on a Highway,” with the one-and-only Stacy Keach as his Jimmy Stewart and Jamie Lee Curtis along for the ride. It’s an exceptional film, but sadly underseen by horror fans… but luckily, not for long.

Although DVDs of ROAD GAMES have long been out-of-print, Australian-based boutique distributor Umbrella Entertainment have announced that they will be bringing ROAD GAMES to Blu-ray this year, complete with a full 4K restoration. On top of that, the film will also receive a slew of newly produced special features, newly commissioned artwork and, for U.S. Blu-ray collectors, the disc will be region-free! Stay tuned for more on this anticipated release here at FANGORIA.com!
