We previously told you here about a new chiller called ROGUE RIVER, featuring Fango fave Bill Moseley. Today, producer Jo Haskin sent along an exclusive, blood-spattered pic of one of Moseley’s scenes (see it below the jump) with a quick update on the film’s status.

If you’re looking for one-liners from old games or zombie twists on classic works of art, it’s almost guaranteed that someone has put it on a T-shirt. A good place to start looking is Tattered Star, which provides horrific puns and obscure gamer humor that we’ve all thought of but just never got around to putting on a shirt.

I have to preface this review by saying that I don’t smoke a pipe. Well, I don’t smoke this kind of pipe… Wait, I may want to run for political office someday. OK, I don’t smoke, but I made an exception for this coverage. Fortunately, I was guided through the process by Olie Sylvester, owner and artist over at OomPaul.com.

While interviewing British filmmaker Harry Bromley Davenport about his new supernatural chiller HAUNTED ECHOES (see that story tomorrow, the day of the flick’s U.S. DVD release), Fango learned that he’s once again revisiting XTRO, the evil-extraterrestrial film series he began back in the early ’80s.

BLACK EVE is a new low-budget horror feature with all the right ingredients: gore, violence, scenes of sexuality and a high body count. Currently in postproduction in Toronto, the film (see an exclusive first photo after the jump) is the brainchild of scripter/director Ryan M. Andrews and his fellow producers Neil Green (who collaborated with Andrews on the story) and Rob Sweet.

When you cover the East Coast independent horror scene on a regular basis, you can wind up in rather scary situations. But then there are moments like the one recently where this writer goes to check out the set of NO REST FOR THE WICKED, a segment from the multidirector anthology PSYCHO STREET, and I find myself sharing a bathtub with actress-turned-director Raine Brown.

Tongues have been fervently wagging about Vincenzo Natali’s (pictured) long-awaited creature feature SPLICE—even more so now that monolithic distributor Warner Bros. is set to release the film June 4 in conjunction with Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis’ unstoppable Dark Castle genre imprint.

Horror is primal, and PRIMAL is a new Australian horror film that puts a bunch of unhappy campers in touch with various basic instincts as one of their own begins to mutate after diving into a swimming hole. Things get very ugly very quickly as the group find themselves in a situation that has completely escalated out of their control.

The good folks at Monterey Media sent along an exclusive first look at a scene preview for their vérité horror movie MEADOWOODS, which has had a slight change in street date. Check out the clip after the jump.

There’s been Smell-O-Vision and, thanks to John Waters, Odorama, and now Tommy Wirkola (pictured), the Norwegian filmmaker behind the Nazi zombie opus DEAD SNOW, is making scents out of the filmmaking experience again with KURT WAGLE AND THE LEGEND OF THE FJORD WITCH.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matt Greenberg is the latest writer to take on Paramount’s new film adaptation of Stephen King’s PET SEMATARY, which the studio previously brought to the screen in 1989.
