We told you here that British director Harry Bromley Davenport is returning to the XTRO franchise he first visited in 1983 to do a fourth film in the series. He’s got a script (by frequent collaborator Daryl Haney) and the backing; what he doesn’t have is a name for it, and he’s seeking Fangorians’ help in that department.

One of the most notorious multiple murder cases in Australian history, known as the Snowtown murders or the “bodies in the barrels” case, is being turned into a movie as the first project from Warp Films Australia, teaming with the Madman company.

Relativity Media, which owns genre-centric company Rogue Pictures and seems to have a part in half the movies made these days, is continuing in the genre business with its latest spec script option. The property in question is DOWN, written by newcomer Greg Russo.

TRAILERS FROM HELL, the wonderful site created by GREMLINS’ Joe Dante that features a wide array of filmmakers, writers and critics providing commentary over classic genre movie trailers, has seen its first DVD release, THE BEST OF TRAILERS FROM HELL: VOLUME 1. Here’s a short clip from SHELTER, the upcoming horror thriller in which Julianne Moore plays a forensic psychiatrist whose patient (THE TUDORS’ Jonathan Rhys Meyers) suffers from multiple personality disorder.

The organizers of Actionfest, the first film festival devoted to shoot-’em/kick-’em/chase-’em film fare, have annouced the first round of movies confirmed for their initial event, which takes place Thursday-Sunday, April 15-18 in Asheville, NC. While most of the flicks are devoted to gunplay, martial arts and the like, there are a few titles in there with specific Fangorian appeal.

Remember SPLATTERHOUSE? The 1988 arcade game favorite is getting a next-generation adaptation, and Namco Bandai has some new screen shots of the devastating weapons that Rick uses to bludgeon and bloody his enemies. Check them out below!

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be the son of a God? How about Zeus’ offspring? Video game enthusiasts will get that chance this July, when Namco Bandai debuts their action-adventure title based on the CLASH OF THE TITANS remake hitting theaters April 2.
