Christian Sellers and Gary Smart’s chronicle of the RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD series comes out on October 1, and Plexus Publishing has released THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD’s cover art.

Paul W.S. Anderson’s RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE isn’t coming out until September, but here are five new pix from the fourth film in the zombie franchise to whet your appetite.

Alexandre Aja (pictured) didn’t shoot PIRANHA 3D with 3-D cameras like James Cameron did with AVATAR. But the HILLS HAVE EYES and MIRRORS remake director says his new film’s piranha mayhem will look great onscreen.

In a time of horror remakes with little respect for their original material, it’s good to see someone trying to pay proper homage to a classic fright film. F.W. Murnau’s NOSFERATU: A SYMPHONY OF HORRORS is one of the most acclaimed genre movies of all time—so revered that many admirers have applied their own soundtracks to the silent landmark. The newest attempt comes from HobGoblin, whose founder Strephon Tayler formed the group (whose name is a nod to trailblazing horror composers Goblin) to craft a modern score for the timeless vampire tale.

Way back in 2001, the GRAND THEFT AUTO franchise laid the framework for what became an obsession for game developers with sandbox-style open environments. While building upon itself and creating one of the more standout and critically acclaimed franchises, the GTA series spawned a slew of bastard-child knockoffs, making the term “GTA clone” a popular piece in the game-review lexicon—and consequently a major turn-off for gamers, as titles bearing this moniker rarely held up to their progenitors’ quality.

How can you go wrong with a campy, Gothic vampire soap opera that is composed almost entirely of hot, steamy guys who get naked at the drop of a hat? In the case of THE LAIR: The Complete Third Season, the answer is: You really can’t, at least not in this girl’s eyes.

After Dark Films just sent along the skinny on PROWL, the first of eight features in the After Dark Originals series it’s producing in conjunction with Lionsgate and the Syfy channel (and which we first reported on here). The company also sent along a couple of pics from the flick.

Fango heard from Michael Sharpe (pictured), star of the just-wrapped zombie Western flick DEVIL’S CROSSING. The indie film, currently deep in postproduction, was written and directed by Ryan Gary and tells a postapocalyptic tale of survival in a new Wild West.
