Every Tuesday, we have a very special treat for you readers – we're publishing, in its entirety, a new issue of FANGORIA's original run. As of last week, we had Issues 1-11 of Volume 1 published, and today we're thrilled to publish Vol. 1 Issue 12, originally printed in April 1981.
It's fun synchronism, as we're currently hard at work on our own Issue 12, from Volume 2. To make sure you get a copy, you can subscribe here! Because we sure don't have any plans to publish Vol. 2 online the way we're doing for Vol. 1, though whoever's in charge forty years from now may be doing that on our behalf. Why wait that long?
IN THIS ISSUE:
- Friday the 13th Part II makes the cover, with a warning: "Whatever you do... DON'T OPEN THE FRIDGE!"
- Karloff, Romero, Castle and Corman all get some tribute ink
- And Tobe Hooper gets an in-depth interview conducted by Uncle Bob Martin
- Martin also "settle[s] the gore controversy" with a letter from the editor "explaining what 'those pictures' are doing in the pages of FANGORIA." In brief, Martin tells readers to get used to graphic images of the remarkable effects that marked that era of the genre: "We intend to keep doing our job – and enjoying it!"
Hear, hear! Read the whole thing – and see those graphic images for yourself – at the link.
