Stark, Eerie Trailer for Xavier Dolan’s “TOM AT THE FARM”

Xavier Dolan (I KILLED MY MOTHER, HEARTBEATS), the exceptionally young Canadian-born filmmaker whose stylish dramas have garnered much in the way of acclaim at Cannes seems to be pushing into the realm of psychological thriller for his fourth feature, TOM AT THE FARM.

An adaptation of Michel Marc Bouchard’s play of the same name, TOM AT THE FARM finds a young man visiting the family of his recently deceased lover. Not only does the family have little knowledge of their son’s sexuality, but they also turn out to be entirely unhinged. That family isn’t seen in this first clip. Instead, with its disjointed style, the trailer highlights the isolating, disorienting nature of this picturesque, haunting locale.

There’s no U.S. distributor at the moment. [The Playlist]
