World’s Smallest Woman Joins “AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW”

While AMERICAN HORROR STORY’s second season ASYLUM saw fit to transform actor Naomi Grossman into fan favorite microcephalic Pepper, the upcoming FREAK SHOW is going for more authentic anomaly.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY co-creator Ryan Murphy tweeted, as he is prone to do, the latest cast announcement in regard to FREAK SHOW: Jyoti Amge, perhaps best known as “The World’s Smallest Woman.” Amge, a 20 year-old Indian woman holds the Guinness Record as “The World’s Smallest Woman” thanks to a disorder called Achondroplasia. She was previously featured in doc series BODY SHOCK, for the episode “Two Foot Tall Teen.”

Amge joins AHS’ presiding queen Jessica Lange, as well as returning cast Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Jamie Brewer, Denis O’Hare and Gabourey Sidibe. Newcomers to the series include Michael Chiklis (THE SHIELD), Wes Bentley, Patti LaBelle and John Carroll Lynch as FREAK SHOW’s Clown Killer.

FREAK SHOW finds Lange playing Elsa Mars, the manager of the titular freak show in 1950s Jupiter, Florida. Expected freak show-esque oddities to appear are a bearded lady and conjoined sisters Bette and Dot (as played by Paulson).

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW premieres this fall. See a photo of Amge with Lange, below.
