To start your week, news on two CREEKs that have both been snapped up for U.S. distribution.

Image Entertainment just announced that it has acquired Greg McLean’s WOLF CREEK 2 for release next year. The sequel to the savage 2005 shocker finds serial-killing Mick Taylor (John Jarratt, pictured above) targeting more tourist prey in the Australian Outback. “We are thrilled to work with Greg McLean on the follow-up to his superbly made first feature film,” says Image’s chief acquisition officer Bill Bromiley. “Mick Taylor is one of the most sadistic characters I have seen on screen and the sequel does not disappoint—it gets under the skin, we can’t wait to show horror fans!”

In addition, Screen Daily reports that MPI Media Group has grabbed all U.S. rights to WILLOW CREEK, Bobcat Goldthwait’s found-footage horror/comedy that follows a young filmmaking couple (Bryce Johnson and Alexie Gilmore) on a documentary quest to find Bigfoot. A second-quarter 2014 release is planned for the film, which just played the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Scary Movies festival. See our review of WILLOW CREEK here.
