Win tickets to New York Asian Film Festival fright flicks!
The 2014 New York Asian Film Festival gets underway this weekend, with a wide variety of exciting movies on tap, including a batch of genre fare. We’ve got tickets to three of them to give away! We’re offering two pairs of tickets to each of the following, all taking place at the Walter Reade Theater (165 West 65th Street):
• MR. VAMPIRE/RIGOR MORTIS, a double feature of Ricky Lau’s classic and influential horror/comedy about hopping vampires and Juno Mak’s new movie about a supernaturally infested tenement (pictured above), Friday, July 4 at 2 p.m.
• SOUL, Chung Mong-hong’s slasher/art film in which a chef goes on a killing spree, featuring legendary actor Jimmy Wong Yu (who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the screening), Saturday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m.
• MONSTERZ, a remake of the Korean film HAUNTERS from RINGU and DARK WATER’s Hideo Nakata, about the ongoing duel between two men with supernatural abilities, Sunday, July 6 at 1 p.m.
To enter, send an e-mail to FANGORIAScreening@gmail.com and be sure to put “Asian Festival” in the subject line and include your full name and e-mail address. You can enter for any or all of the three screenings (but please, only for those you definitely plan to attend if you win). Deadline for entries is 12 noon on Monday, June 30; winners will be notified via e-mail by 5 p.m. that afternoon, and tickets held at the theater (at a table in the lobby, not at the box office) in their names. For more info on the festival, go to its official website and Facebook page.
