“WHERE THE DEVIL HIDES,” “PARANORMAL 5” and more shift release datesMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
As we proceed into the summer, a whole bunch of horror films have fallen out of their originally scheduled fall/winter releases, including one we just found out about exclusively.
Fango got the first word that WHERE THE DEVIL HIDES, LD Entertainment’s supernatural thriller starring Rufus Sewell and Jennifer Carpenter, has vacated its previously announced October 11 berth and will now open sometime in early 2014. Similarly, Exhibitor Relations reports that Paramount Pictures has broken its Halloweentime tradition and moved PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 from Oct. 25 of this year to January 3 of the next (putting it up against Fox’s DEVIL’S DUE, opening Jan. 1).
Originally set for Jan. 3, Dimension’s THE AMITYVILLE HORROR: THE LOST TAPES is now undated (no surprise, as producer Jason Blum told us recently that a script still hasn’t been nailed down); meanwhile, Fox’s HAUNT, directed by Mac Carter with PARANORMAL ACTIVITY’s Steven Schneider as one of the producers, has also dropped out of October 11, with a new date to be announced for that one as well.
