Vote for the House of Heathens’ “STRAIGHT TO VIDEO” on Storyhive

Canadian indie genre collective House of Heathens’ latest indie effort—a love letter to genre films of the ‘80s titled STRAIGHT TO VIDEO: THE B-MOVIE ODYSSEY (read more about it here)—has been unleashed upon the masses via Telus Optik TV and Storyhive.ca, and viewers now have a limited chance to vote for the project, which will hopefully transmogrify into a full-blown web-series.

The tenacious young Edmonton-based indie genre auteurs are up against 15 other teams from Alberta, Canada for a chance at winning $50,000 towards the development of their passion project (the estimated cost to produce between five and seven web-series episodes). Storyhive, a community-based program that aims to assist up-and-coming filmmakers in Alberta and British Columbia with the required funding to bring their creative vision to fruition, is overseeing the competition.

Supporters of oddball independent Canadian genre fare can view, vote for and share the B-MOVIE ODYSSEYat storyhive.ca/web-series. Participants can cast up to five votes by registering and logging in to the site. The contest closes on Thursday, March 26 at 12 p.m. MST. Stay tuned to Storyhive.ca on Thursday, April 2 for the announcement of the victor.
