VODetails, New Art: Acclaimed Satirical Horror “CHEAP THRILLS”

CheapThrillsFeatureNew

There’s a reason you might have heard so many good things about E.L. Katz’s biting, gnashing debut CHEAP THRILLS since its premiere at last year’s SXSW. Simply, it’s great. Now, as its theatrical bow approaches, the now-standard preceding On Demand release has been revealed, alongside some fantastic artwork. Grab friends, grab drinks and get ready.

CHEAP THRILLS is a horror film with a punk heart, chronicling a broke, jobless husband & father and the extents he finds himself willing to go to get back on his feet. Along for the ride is an old friend (Ethan Embry) and driving is a heap of bad news in the form of ANCHORMAN’s David Koechner and THE INNKEEPERS’ Sara Paxton as a wealthy couple who get off devaluing those beneath them. It’s all so grim, and it’s increasingly hilarious and depraved throughout. As many peers are currently saying, I just can’t wait for you to see it.

CHEAP THRILLS is On Demand (Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Communications and Bright House Networks) February 21 and in theaters March 21 (wait for such, if you can) from Drafthouse Films. You can see the trailer and the roll of new artwork below, including Johnny Ryan’s comic take, and the four character posters with some severe neon for good measure.
