Victor Salva hints at “JEEPERS CREEPERS 3” reality

It’s been in development as far back as 2007, and news broke yesterday that a third JEEPERS CREEPERS film, subtitled CATHEDRAL, may finally become a reality.

Following the success of the first two films, there’s been little movement on the third since its announcement in 2007, after which it was largely lost in the shuffle when MGM’s financial troubles overwhelmed the company’s development slate. However, franchise writer/director Victor Salva noted to Shock Till You Drop, “There may finally be some very good news for those waiting for the third JEEPERS film to go before the cameras,” and even hinted at a day of test footage having been shot back in September, shortly before Salva boarded the vampire Western PURGATORY.

At this time, there aren’t many details on the third JEEPERS CREEPERS, but in the past, Salva had expressed interest in bringing back both Ray Wise and Gina Phillips, and one could assume he would ask Jonathan Breck to bring the Creeper back to life once more. Furthermore, Salva has previously noted that the titular cathedral might become the Creeper’s new lair, so there may be more mythology explored. As the American Film Market closes up, expect more news on JEEPERS CREEPERS 3: CATHEDRAL to rise at any minute.
