Update Rundown: “PREACHER” Lands Premiere Date, “OUTCAST” Renewed


As the wicked world turns, FANGORIA continues to sink our teeth into the latest and greatest in horror happenings. And to keep fright fans informed in a timely fashion, FANGO has rounded up the head-turning headlines from across the lurid landscape for your reading pleasure!

First off, the highly-anticipated series adaptation of Garth Ennis’ PREACHER has finally announced a premiere date, airing after the season finale of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD on May 22nd, 2016 at 10 p.m. Following back-to-back encore presentations on May 29th, the Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg-produced series will resume with it’s second episode at its regular timeslot at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 5th. The 10-episode first season stars Dominic Cooper as the powerful and dark Jesse Custer and co-stars Joseph Gilgun (as the Irish vampire Cassidy), Ruth Negga, W. Earl Brown, Lucy Griffiths and Ian Colletti, and the pilot just premiered at SXSW to rave reviews; stay tuned for more on the supernatural series here at FANGORIA.com.

Speaking of terrifying TV, Robert Kirkman’s next serialized scare show OUTCAST, setting a June 3rd, 2016 premiere date on Cinemax for it’s Adam Wingard-directed pilot. Starring Patrick Fugit (GONE GIRL), Philip Glenister (PREY), Gabriel Bateman (ANNABELLE), Wrenn Schmidt (PRESERVATION), David Denman (THE GIFT), Grace Zabriskie (TWIN PEAKS), Catherine Dent (THE SHIELD), Lee Tergesen (AMERICAN HORROR STORY), Melinda McGraw (THE X-FILES) and Brent Spiner (STAR TREK), OUTCAST has also been renewed for a second season following the pilot’s world premiere at SXSW, joining ASH VS. EVIL DEAD in the premium cable horror series preemptively renewed before their air date.
