As the wicked world turns, FANGORIA continues to sink our teeth into the latest and greatest in horror happenings. And to keep fright fans informed in a timely fashion, FANGO has rounded up the head-turning headlines from across the lurid landscape for your reading pleasure!
First up, Geena Davis is stepping into the conceptual shoes of Ellen Burstyn for the matriarchal role in THE EXORCIST series, as per Deadline. Davis, best known to genre fans for her roles in ’80s classics such as BEETLEJUICE and THE FLY, is playing the role of “Angela Rance”, the hard-working mother whose daughter is afflicted with demonic possession, although it is unknown at this point if Davis’ role will be recurring should the pilot goes to series. Written by Jeremy Slater, the pilot for THE EXORCIST will be directed by RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES helmer Rupert Wyatt, and will be going into production next month.
Meanwhile, fan site The Arnold Fans reported a rather sensational scoop over the weekend, as Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he is slated to talk to director/writer Shane Black about the upcoming reboot/sequel THE PREDATOR. While Schwarzenegger did not confirm whether or not he’s being asked back into the iconic role of Dutch or if he’s simply there to advise, the meeting is certainly interesting considering the momentum that the project has been gaining as of late. Stay tuned for more developments as they unfold with either project here at FANGORIA.com!
