UK genre-disc fave Arrow Films reveals North American plans

,

Having issued any number of excellent special-edition DVDs and Blu-rays in and out of the horror genre, Britain’s Arrow Films is preparing to cross the pond to America, and has announced several early titles.

Arrow, which has won awards and praise for its releases of fear fare from around the world (most notably a clutch of Italian-horror classics), will launch this invasion with the North American Blu-ray premiere of Michael Armstrong’s notorious MARK OF THE DEVIL (pictured above) on March 17. This will be followed by Teruo Ishii’s samurai ghost story BLIND WOMAN’S CURSE (a.k.a. BLACK CAT’S REVENGE) March 24 and Tonino Valerii’s spaghetti Western DAY OF ANGER March 31; April will see the releases of Walerian Borowczyk’s THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MISS OSBOURNE (a.k.a. DR. JEKYLL AND THE WOMEN), Mario Bava’s BLOOD AND BLACK LACE and Yasuharu Hasebe’s MASSACRE GUN. Lots more titles are coming, including DVD and or Blu-ray premieres of films previously unreleased on disc from European and Japanese cult directors; keep your eyes here for updates, and visit Arrow’s Facebook page and blog.
