U.S. Trailer for Aussie Great, “THE BABADOOK”

Jennifer Kent’s shadow-filled, nightmarish and emotionally affecting debut THE BABADOOK has a new trailer for its approaching U.S. release.

THE BABADOOK is one of the best films of the year. Having World Premiered at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival to great and deserved acclaim, and just won Best Horror Feature at Austin’s Fantastic Fest, the film will be widely available in theaters and on demand from IFC Midnight this November.

Here then, is yet another look at this stellar piece of work. In THE BABADOOK, “Young widow Amelia lives with her seven-year-old son, Samuel, who seems to get odder by the day. His father’s death in an accident when driving Amelia to the hospital to give birth to him may have something to do with the boy’s unnerving behavior, which scares other children and perhaps even his own mother. But when a sinister children’s book called Mister Babadook mysteriously appears—and keeps reappearing—Amelia begins to wonder if there’s a presence in the house more disturbed than her son.”
