“TRICK ’R TREAT” creator’s “KRAMPUS” gets a date; “SPECTRAL” too

It’s been too long waiting for a follow-up feature from the director of the terrific Halloween film TRICK ’R TREAT, but now his latest has been dated for next year’s Halloween season.

Universal Pictures annouced that it will release KRAMPUS November 25, 2015. TRICK’s Michael Dougherty (pictured above) will direct from a script he wrote with Todd Casey and Zach Shields, about the anti-Santa Claus from European folk legend who punishes naughty children. Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Alex Garcia are the producers. Also coming from Universal and Legendary, newly set for an August 12, 2016 release, is SPECTRAL, a 3D supernatural action-thriller from director Nic Mathieu. Written by Ian Fried, George Nolfi and John Gatins, it’s about an elite squad combatting a ghostly menace and will star WORLD WAR Z’s James Badge Dale, Emily Mortimer, Max Martini and Bruce Greenwood.
