Trailer: Vampire Mock-Doc, “WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS”

There is a very likely chance that this, genre or no, is the funniest movie of the year.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, from co-directors Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement (FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS), is a mock-doc about four, very old vampires living in modern Wellington, New Zealand and attempting to have a grand time doing so. I saw the film twice at Sundance and again this past weekend at Colorado’s Stanley Film Festival, purely because it’s so addictive. The gags range from outright silly to the truly clever, and the film is dripping with blood and affection for the project by everyone involved. It becomes infectious, and despite the film not having clear distribution in the U.S. yet, I can’t wait for you all to see it.

The trailer, which doesn’t even scratch the surface of the funniest bits, comes from The New Zealand Herald. For more on WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, see our review from Sundance here.
