Trailer: “UNEARTHED” doc reveals “THE PATH TO PET SEMATARY”

UNEARTHED & UNTOLD has a story to tell and it’s exclusively for fans and admirers (like myself) of Mary Lambert’s 1989 Stephen King-adaptation PET SEMATARY. In line with other full length docs meant to illuminate production history, filmmaker insight and ultimate legacy of particular terror tales, a trailer for the as yet unfinished film gives a look at what to expect.

Directed, John Campopiano & Justin White, UNEARTHED & UNTOLD is an independent documentary taking an extensive look at the making of Pet Sematary, the origins of the story, the stories of cast and crew, memories of the Maine locals who helped make the film, and the legacy the film has established among horror fans and scholars of Stephen King’s work. Having filmed in every location and thoroughly met with both cast and crew and local residents of Maine, Campopiano previously told Fango, “In addition to cast and crew memories, the local experiences of those in Maine, and the film’s portrayal in the local media, we’re also seeking to explore the legacy the film has established and how its core themes are being taught and explored in the film and academic worlds.”

It certainly seems something of a special shoot. When I spoke with CABIN IN THE WOODS makeup designer David LeRoy Anderson last year, he spoke very highly of the film, both of its production and fond personal memories.

Expect more on UNEARTHED & UNTOLD as it develops.
