Even though it seems that Winter has just passed, it almost feels that Summer is coming quicker than expected. And with Summer comes the impending wave of mutilation on the big and small screen, especially with returning horror properties looking to make a splash upon re-emergence. So with trailers dropping by the day, FANGORIA has rounded up a pair of previews to help horror fans streamline their first look fix…

Earlier this week, FANGORIA reported the release date and synopsis via Entertainment Weekly for IFC Midnight’s THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3: FINAL SEQUENCE, the upcoming (and supposedly last) entry in the controversial HUMAN CENTIPEDE franchise. Now, fans can finally get a look of the 500-person centipede in action as the first red-band trailer for the film has been released, which you can check out below. Once again directed by Tom Six and starring previous franchise baddies Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 3 hits select theaters and VOD this May.

Our second preview is one project that is a bit of a gamble for FANGORIA coverage, but it is welcome should the series be half as horrific as the first season. Of course, we’re talking about TRUE DETECTIVE, the HBO procedural that tackled both human horror and the occult in it’s inaugural bow, despite hiding most genre-related sequences in its previews. And for the star-studded second season, which shifts the action over to California, the same can be said, but the off-kilter and heavy tone of the preview definitely leave the seeds for potential darkness. You can check out the teaser for TRUE DETECTIVE’s second season below, and keep an eye out for the show’s return this June…
