Trailer: “PATRICK” remake brings look at third telekinetic film of this year

Three’s a trend, or so they say. Will PATRICK, alongside the CARRIE redux and Marina de Van’s DARK TOUCH bring back psychic powered-cinema? I sure hope so.

On the heels of another Ozploitation remake getting underway (TURKEY SHOOT, see here), is the first good look at the brand new PATRICK, which is directed by Mark Hartley (he who helmed NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD and helped bring awareness back to an era of gonzo films from Australia). Sharni Vinson (who will wow you in this summer’s YOU’RE NEXT) stars as nurse Kathy Jacquard, tasked with caring for the comatose Patrick whose vegetative state means no less harm for those who fall under his dangerous obsessions, thanks to massive psychic prowess.

For more, you can see what Hartley previously had to tell us about updating the tale here.
