Trailer: Blood, Fire and Botox in Vietmanese Thriller, “SCANDAL: THE COMEBACK”

Following his VENGEFUL HEART with another thriller that begins in earnest on an operating table, Vietmanese director Victor Vu has transitioned focus from the interior to the exterior with the plastic surgery-based SCANDAL: THE COMEBACK.

Opening this August in Vietnam, THE COMEBACK is a sequel to Vu’s 2012 film SCANDAL, though it seems more thematic than continuity-based (I’ve not seen the first). Via Twitch, SCANDAL: THE COMEBACK concerns “Bella, a once-famous actress trying to recapture her old glory days with the help of plastic surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery fails and Bella dies on the operating table. But a few months later, Bella suddenly comes back.” It looks a twisty piece of work set within the dark side of show business and we’ll certainly keep an eye on festival dates, or U.S. release in the future.
