Trailer: Alex de la Iglesia’s “WITCHING’ is totally Bitchin

DAY OF THE BEAST director de la Iglesia adds a tale of criminals and witchcraft to his frenzied aesthetic.

RTVE premiered the first look at the latest from Iglesia, whose last jaunt into genre, the towering LAST CIRCUS, was an incredible ride of monster iconography, twisted fate and political commentary. He reunites with that film’s Carolina Bang and LA COMUNIDAD’s Carmen Maura for WITCHING AND BITCHING (LAS BRUJAS DE ZUGGARAMURDI), which finds a pack of thieves run afoul of a coven of witches midst their getaway. The trailer starts with living statue shenanigans and zips right along to blood drinking, titillation and much of what else Iglesia does fantastically. Hopefully, this hits here soon.
