Welcome to TOYS OF TERROR, Fango’s weekly feature exhibiting the coolest horror accessories across the web. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur or simply making your love of horror a family affair, these petrifying playthings are likely to impress even the most heartless horror fan. So if you’re searching for a ghoulish gift, look no further…
Our first Toys of Terror this week is the cheapest of the bunch this week, and adds another column to the impressive track record of Funko’s POP! toy line with their take on THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON! Standing at 3 and ¾-inches tall, this vinyl figures faithfully recreates the classic creature via Funko POP!’s traditional visage. Coming in at a cheap $9.99, you can landlock this Universal Monster in your collection here.
The second entry this week comes from the good folks at Hollywood Collectibles, offering another superb statue from their RESIDENT EVIL series with “The Licker”! Standing a very impressive 15 inches-tall, this intricately detailed polystone piece is officially licensed and hand painted. This 1:4 scale “Licker” is limited to only 750 pieces, so it carries the hefty price-tag of $349.99, but if you’ve got the cash and you’re a RESIDENT EVIL die-hard, don’t miss out getting yours here.
Next up is a bit of a visceral variable on an old standard, with the PREDATOR collectible figure from Square Enix! Sporting a radically new design from Hitoshi Kondo, this 11-inch tall bad boy features a fleshier suit of skin than seen on the extraterrestrial hunter, and features sharp bone armor that much different than the sleek futuristic armor from the character’s past incarnations. Also featuring three interchangeable hands, this PREDATOR figure goes for $149.99 (or three monthly payments of $50) here.
Following that Toy of Terror is another entry from the folks at Diamond Selects, offering the big bad of their NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS line of figures: Oogie Boogie! Standing at 7-inches tall, this painstakingly detailed figure comes appropriately articulated to its cinematic counterpart and also features a cemetery display base! Sculpted by Dave Cortes, this Oogie Boogie figure can complete any Burton fan’s creepy collection for $24.99 here.
Last, but certainly not least, is a first figure from Nevermore Toys, and features a creature rarely found in the world of horror cinema: The Jersey Devil! Authentically recreated from the design of its lore, this crowdfunded collectible stands at 6-inches tall, horns and all. However, this freaky figure isn’t quite ready yet; you can keep up on pre-order dates and more here.
